Fundamental Programming Concepts
Elementary School – Wizard Level II – Class 1
About Fundamental Programming Concepts
Students in Fundamental Programming Concepts learn about real-world software development techniques using JavaScript. JavaScript, an object-oriented computer programming language used to create interactive web applications, is used by over two thirds of developers, making it one of the most sought after languages in the world. Now that students have a good programming groundwork, they can start to get a better understanding of different programming conventions and standards while also gaining the valuable skill of programming in JavaScript.
Learning Objectives
When students complete Fundamental Programming Concepts, they will be able to:
- Know how to use loops and functions to decrease redundancy
- Properly implement debugging conventions
- Use boolean, arithmetic, relational, and logical operators
Minecraft Capstone Class
Our goal is to make programming as entertaining for kids as playing games. Minecraft is loved as a game by kids worldwide. We use a special mod of Minecraft that allows us to use it as an interface to practice all the programming concepts that students learned in Wizard Level 1.
