Meet the Liang family from Los Angeles, California, and find out how learning to code at CodeWizardsHQ has led Lauren to be our Student of the Month!
“I like how the classes aren’t too big and the teachers have more time to individually help students. It helps students keep up and do their best in coding.” – Catherine, Lauren’s Mom

See more of Lauren’s amazing work.
CodeWizardsHQ’s community spreads around the world. We are lucky to have amazing families like the Liang family! Their family consists of Catherine (mom) and Lauren.
Lauren and her family were kind enough to answer a few questions about their coding adventure.
Lauren’s Answers:
Q. What’s your coding background?
My coding background before I started CodeWizards was pretty minimal, and I had only participated in my school’s code.org program once. Through CodeWizards I have done Intro to Programming and I am currently working on Intro to CSS/HTML. Along with CodeWizardsHQ, I participated in a coding camp called Girls Who Code, where I learned about Glitch and have done a few projects through it.
Q: What are your family’s hobbies?
We really enjoy traveling and camping. As of right now, we have been to 8 countries and 18 of the United States. Along with this, we both enjoy drawing and painting.
Q: What subjects do you enjoy in school?
I actually enjoy math quite a lot, mainly because there is usually only one answer but multiple ways to reach it.
Q: Is there anything else fun and interesting you’d like to share about your family?
We are both involved in Girl Scouts. My mom is the troop leader of our eight girl troop and I’m a Cadette of eight years.
Q: How did you find out about CodeWizardsHQ?
My mom was going through her Facebook feed and saw an ad for CodeWizards. She looked further into it through Google.
Q: What are some things you like about learning to code with CWHQ?
I like how the classes aren’t too big and the teachers have more time to individually help students. It helps students keep up and do their best in coding.
Catherine’s Answers:
Q: What goals or dreams do you have for your child in relation to coding?
I want her to learn skills like coding that could benefit the rest of her life.
Q: Last of all, what plans do you have for coding in your family’s future?
My daughter wants to be an engineer, and I think coding is an important tool to help her accomplish her dream.
Lauren has taken two courses at CodeWizardsHQ. Here is what her teacher, Margaret, had to say about her:
“Lauren is a pleasure to have in class! Not only does she excel at writing code, but her delightful designs also go above and beyond expectations. She took it upon herself to study new concepts that visually elevate her projects. I love seeing her work during project presentations, I can’t wait to see what she creates next!”
At CodeWizardsHQ, our students are our top priority.
Thanks for allowing us to make you our Student of the Month, Lauren. We are lucky to have you as a part of our community!
