Online Multiplayer Gaming Capstone

Middle School – Wizard Level II – Class 4

About Online Multiplayer Gaming Capstone

Students in Online Multiplayer Gaming learn how to move beyond creating single player games and into multiplayer game development. In terms of programming, multiplayer game development poses a number of new challenges. To overcome these challenges, students will start to understand how to communicate asynchronously over the web, the logistics behind running a server on any PC, and how to store video game data in the cloud by using Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Learning Objectives

When students complete Online Multiplayer Gaming Capstone, they will be able to:

  • Communicate asynchronously between computers
  • Understand the role of Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in video game development
  • Use cloud storage to store video game data
Capstone II

Online Multiplayer Gaming

Games are more fun with friends. Until now we have been building single-player games, in this course, we use server-side tools to create a multiplayer game that uses a database to save scores and keep players in sync.
